Quarter scale De Havilland Gysy Mk1 engine - stock code 8029

An exhibition quality, quarter scale model of a de Havilland Gypsy Mk1 engine, the original 5 litre engine designed in 1927 to power the Moth biplane.

I won't dilate at length on this one, the words tell much of the story. Built to the Les Chenery design, it's the work of a highly talented engineer; we've had several of his models over the years, including Bentley Rotary, Stuart Turner triple expansion and Red Wing open crank engines, as well as a 3 1/2 inch gauge Stanier 2-6-4T locomotive, all built to the same high standard.
