We sold the Saint back in 2015 (there's a listing from that time in the archive here) to a long time customer of ours in Switzerland, a collector with an eye for fine models, including locomotives, traction engines and stationary engines. Now retired and downsizing his collection, we have recently taken delivery of a large part of it, put together over the last twenty years.
The engine has had occasional use over the last ten years and came to us lightly seized - once freed off there was blow by evident from the piston valves.
The vacuum ejector has been cleaned, with two new injectors and a pressure gauge fitted. The boiler has had hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued.
On test the engine steamed very freely and ran, with some wear apparent in motion work and valve gear.
Offered in running order, with warrantied boiler, the engine will require further work to bring up to scratch, as noted above.
