7 1/4 inch gauge Orenstein & Koppel 0-6-0 - stock code 6535

A very fine example of Ken Swan's "Koppel", this one the six-wheeled variant. The work of a highly talented engineer, reponsible, amongst other things, for a superb Standard Class 2 and Sharp Stewart "Asia".

Silver soldered copper boiler, 80psi working pressure, feed by injector, steam pump and crosshead pump. Twin safety valves. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Walshaert's gear, pole reverser in cab. Displacement lubricator with sight feeder in the cab. The locomotive is equipped with mechanical and steam brakes, it's fitted with vacuum for the train.

Not a lot more to say on this one - a beautifully made engine, the pictures tell the whole story. Fit and finish is first class throughout, the model is finely detailed - from the working gas lamps to wick feed valve spindle lubricators.

The engine has been running outside the workshop much of this afternoon, it goes exactly as you would expect.
