Started over twenty years ago by a professional engineer, the locomotive was intended to run on his garden railway when finished. Unfortunately, such was the demand for the services of his workshop from paying customers, this is as far as it got in the intervening years!

There is a set of parts including:

• commercial silver soldered copper boiler by GB Boiler Services, CE-marked, complete with manufacturer's documentation
• unmachined castings for chimney cap & base, dummy leaf springs, blast pipe (plus machined casting for same)
• machined horns, keeps, axle boxes, axles and driving wheels, eccentric straps and sheaves
• gunmetal cylinder castings
• cast iron piston rings
• laser profiled parts including main frames, buffer beams, flycranks, reverser handle, lifting links, expansion links, connecting & coupling rods, stretchers, spring links and miscellaneous smaller parts

A well-regarded design, we've had several "Elidirs" in over the years, there are pictures in the archive.

A straightforward build, it makes a good-looking engine, authentic to prototype and easier to transport about than the larger, 4 inch scale Milner/Marsh designs.

Model Engineers Laser offer many parts for the design - many already included here, although they can also supply parts for the cab.
