A well-built Hunslet to the 3 inch scale "Elidir" design, complete with driving truck. Unused for several years, the engine was last run in 2003 since when it has been stored in the owner's workshop. During this time the pistons have stuck fast in the bores - not unknown with iron cylinders - and will require stripping to free off.

Superheated copper boiler with feed by twin injectors. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Stephenson's gear with pole reverser in cab, rod-operated drain cocks.Mechanical lubricator mounted on nearside running board.

The engine is nicely detailed, backhead is particularly well done with prototypical brass firebox cleading and nicely-made turret cover in brass. Paintwork is mainly good, with minor blemishes - smokebox could use stripping and repainting.

The driving truck is fitted with a compressor for air braking, piped through to a quick-detach connector at the dragbeam.
