A 45mm gauge Aster Southern Railways "Merchant Navy" Pacific, No.35028 "Clan Line", the documentation marks it as Aster's works number 015/200.
Assembled from a kit by a talented and supremely meticulous engineer, his work has previously featured in these pages in the form of his 5 inch gauge BR Class 7 "Oliver Cromwell".
Needless to say, there's an equally detailed and engaging writeup of his experience building the "Merchant Navy" on his website.
We've had the locomotive on our rolling roads - to our complete lack of surprise it steamed freely and ran exceptionally well.
Complete with original manufacturer's assembly instructions, packaging, track, blower, rolling roads and toolkit.
