A new commerically-built boiler, parts, castings and drawings for a 4 inch scale Burrell single crank compound agricultural engine to the Live Steam Models design.
The project has come to us from an experienced builder who, having already completed a similar engine in road locomotive form, decided to build the agricultural engine to keep it company. A boiler was ordered from Bell Boilers, John Rex supplied a full-machined cylinder assembly - the remainder of the work he did himself, to a fine standard. Work has progressed steadily, however, now into his eighth decade, he's decided that it's time to let a younger pair of hands take over.
Includes:
- New CE-marked Bell Boiler with all documentation
- Set of drawings
- Plate formers for tender and belly tanks
- Machined cylinder block by John Rex Model Engineering
- Assembled front wheels
- Rear wheels rolled, T-rings welded in, hubs machined, spokes laser cut
- Machined hubs caps, eccentric straps, front axle, perch bracket, gear blanks, expansion link
- Laser cut grate assembly, steering brackets
- Hornplates c/w bearing housings
- Large quantity of castings including crankshaft, flywheel, clacks, governor etc
We've had several of these in over the years - there are pictures in the archive of both
road locomotive and
agricultural types.
