4 inch scale Burrell SCC agricultural engine - stock code 6812

A Burrell single crank compound two speed road engine, on rubber tyres and fitted with solid flywheel and rubber tyres.

Welded steel boiler with expanded tubes by Franklin & Bell - the boiler was supplied new in 1998, earliest records of a steam test for the engine we have are 2006, not unusual given the protracted build times of a big project like this. 150psi working pressure, Ramsbottom type safety valves, feed by injector and mechanical pump. Water carried in belly tank and tender - the tender tank has a gauge set into the manstand. Cast iron cylinder, single crank compound working, slide valves actuated by Stephenson's gear with pole reverser. Mechanical lubricator and governor mounted on the cylinder block, along with a steam siren.

Three shaft, two speed transmission with differential, rubber tyres, winch behind nearside rear wheel with fairleads on tender.
