The work of a highly capable engineer, he was also responsible for the super part-built Lancashire & Yorkshire 0-6-0 we currently have in stock.
Work is to a high standard throughout, the builder having equal facility in machining, sheet metal and wood work.
It appears to have been test-steamed in the past, although not recently. Boiler has club history, it's had a hydraulic test in the workshop here with new certification issued.
The engine is free to turn over but doesn't currently run - we suspect because the undermounted slide valves have dropped away from the port face during storage - and the blower valve leaks. Curiously the rear cab panel - removeable in this design for ease of driving - is trapped in place by the water tank and would need some modification.
Complete with a custom built travelling crate.
