5 inch gauge Lancashire & Yorkshire Aspinall 0-6-0 - stock code 10427

A 5 inch gauge Lancashire & Yorkshire 0-6-0 - designed in 1889 by Aspinall, it became the standard goods locomotive for that railway, the class eventually numbering more than 400 locomotives.

Built up to an air-running chassis stage, work to date is to an exceptional standard; fit and finish of motionwork and valve gear is excellent, there is a great deal of hand finishing work - look at the Joy gear die block guides and shaping of the dragbeam to see many hours of patient, skillful filing and shaping.

Still lots of work to do, but if you're after building one of these characterful Victorian locomotives, you could ask for no better a starting point.
