A 10 1/4 inch gauge American 4-4-0, comprising a rolling chassis complete with cylinders, valve gear and motionwork; smokebox assembly; timber cab and a bogie tender.
Work to date is to a good standard, the valve gear and motionwork beautifully made and fitted, the cab's something of a work of art in its own right!
Over nine feet long with its tender, and currently weighing in at around 750 pounds, we'd expect it to tip the scales at about a half ton when finished, making for a modest size engine in this gauge which would be easy to handle and transport.
If you need some inspiration for how the thing could look when finished, we had a particularly fine example of a NY&HRR 4-4-0 in some years ago - an impressive engine in 5 inch gauge, it would be truly spectacular doubled up.
Complete with a quantity of drawings, builder's notes and booklets.
