York-Bolton steam plant - stock code 3862

A York-Bolton steam plant, built from a kit and complete with all documentation including assembly and operating instructions, drawings and original boiler certificate. The model appears to have had little running, paintwork and lacquer are in as-new condition.

Multi-tube gas-fired boiler, silver-soldered copper construction with piezo ignition ceramic burner, 60psi working pressure. The horizontal mill engine drives a dynamo which runs a lamp - gas tank, water tank and exhaust sump are all mounted integral on the baseboard.

The piezo ignition for the boiler is broken - could possibly be fixed or a replacement bought, alternatively you could light the gas through the firehole door. One of the gas regulator connections has leaked in the past and been repaired wth Araldite, it would not be too difficult to fix properly (as in brass and solder, rather than glue). The whistle has been sheared off above the valve - given the sound they make at this size I would consider this a positive improvement.
