Interesting and rather rare example of the Westbury "Seal", a 4
cylinder side valve engine. This one was built to power a model boat and is
fitted with a recoil starter, centrifugal clutch and reversing gearbox designed
for operation by radio control. A 3 volt coil provided the sparks. The engine
runs on ordinary unleaded petrol (gas to our friends in the USA!).
Exhibited at the Model Engineer Exhibition in London, where it won a bronze
medal.
Length engine 6 inches
Base 13 x 5 inches
