Vulcan beam engine - stock code 9798

A Vulcan beam engine, built to the Edgar Westbury design based on a mid-nineteenth century prototype, published in "Model Engineer" magazine in 1954.

An older model, free to turn over it runs on air, although with audible wear in the motionwork - a candidate for light restoration rather than heavy overhaul. The valve lever is loose in its collar - currently just pushed in, a dab of silver solder would secure it.
