A well-proportioned old vertical compound engine with Stephenson's reversing gear, well-built originally but now in need of an overhaul. It runs after a fashion in one direction, not at all in the other. Largely built from gunmetal castings, it stands on a wooden plinth.

A worthwhile project, I think this one has good potential and could be turned into a fine engine.
