Stuart Star - stock code 10404

Introduced in 1926, Stuart Turner's "Star" was described as an "ultra lightweight" engine in their catalogue of the time, weighing in at 18 ounces complete with the displacement lubricator which was supplied as standard.

A fully enclosed, high speed design with wet sump lubrication it quickly became popular for a range of applications including driving generators and flash steam hydroplane racing.

An older engine, this one has come to us as part of a large collection of Stuart models. It is complete and turns over freely, although doesn't currently run on air - we suspect leakage past either the pistons or valve, it will need disassembling to investigate.

There is more information about this interesting design on Stuart's website here.
