Stuart Major beam engine - stock code 10403

A Stuart "Major" beam engine, the original design by George Gentry serialised in the "Model Engineer" magazine in 1914 and latterly updated by H.A.Taylor. A finely built older model, completed in 1984 and bearing the builder's plate.

Nicely detailed on a "engine house" effect stone block base with hand rails, we liked the jacking screws on the cylinder cover, tallow cup lubricator and beautifully turned parallel linkages with cottered bearings.

In good mechanical order, it runs very well on air.

Complete with an acrylic cover.
