Stuart beam - stock code 1512

A particularly good example of the ever-popular Stuart beam engine, this is an older model in excellent running order.

With 1 inch bore x 2 inch stroke and with a 7 inch diameter iron flywheel, the engine runs well at low speed. The elegant Watts parallel motion provides support for the piston rod without the need for guide bars.

This engine is well painted and mounted on a wooden base board. Overall length of the engine is 13 inches, all up weight is around 15 pounds. With it's long-stroke, slow-running characteristics, the beam engine can be run on modest-sized boilers such as the Stuart 500.
