Stuart 7A vertical engine - stock code 9715

One of the finest Stuart Turner engines we've seen, a superbly built 7A vertical engine.

Quality of machining, fit and finish is excellent throughout. The castings have all been carefully rubbed down and filled before painting to give an exhibition quality finish.

There is much extra detailing including:

  • Extra valve chest and cylinder cover studs, more closely adhering to prototype practice
  • Cylinder and valve chest draincocks, piped down trunk to base
  • Finely contoured top cylinder cover with spring relief valve
  • Flanged and bolted regulator valve
  • Castellated nutted and split pinned little end, castellated nuts securing trunk guide to base
  • Finely turned bronze oil pots with caps for main bearings
  • Bar-turned nuts fitted to main bearing caps and eccentric strap

Built in 1975 the engine remains in excellent, ex-works condition. It runs - as might be expected - beautifully on air, there's some video of it here.
