Steam river launch "S.L.Merlin", it's recently arrived in part exchange for a traction engine. Last used around ten years ago, it's been stored dry indoors since.
Â
Boiler has been tested, we had it in steam earlier in the week -
there's a clip of it here. Engine is a Reeves Commander, runs well, with twin pumps keeping the boiler filled - there's an industrial size hand pump as well if required, pumping into 150psi certainly gives you a decent workout!
Air pump fitted between the water pumps, exhaust into hot well beneath one of the seats (the warmest place to sit on a cool day). The launch is fitted with a keel condenser.
Â
There's a Windermere kettle plumbed in forward of the boiler - I can speak for its efficacy, had a decent cup of tea made from it in double quick time yesterday.Â
Â
Complete with a galvanized transport and launching trailer, along with drawings for the engine and comprehensive notes showing the plumbing.
