A 90% complete Stuart 5A, missing only the flywheel and cylinder lagging. The engine is tight to turn over although without tight spots, if you appreciate the distinction - I suspect stripping and careful reassembly is required. The main bearing caps have yet to be drilled through for oilers, on the whole standard of workmanship looks good.

The 5A is a large engine of robust design, much used in small full-sized steam boats. Stuart rate it at 1 1/2 bhp at 100psi.
