Part built Simplex - stock code 2389

0-6-0 tank engine to Martin Evans' popular "Simplex" design, probably the most popular tank locomotive built over the last forty years. They make up into a powerful club performer - their size makes them easy to get to the track, once there they are a straightforward, easy to drive engine.

Complete rolling chassis, apparently ready to run on air with the addition of a pair of pins to secure crosshead to piston rods. Complete smokebox assembly fitted and the beginnings of a boiler - a decently made outershell and a tacked together inner firebox with girder stays. There are a pair of cabside/tank assemblies which, to be honest, will need a bit of sympathetic panel-beating.

Complete with a set of drawings and the Martin Evans "Simplex" book giving blow-by-blow construction details.
