Part-built 7 1/4 inch gauge "Highlander" - stock code 2132

Excellent part-built 7 1/4 inch gauge Black 5 to Martin Evans' "Highlander" design, from the same builder as the Britannia and Royal Scot. Built to a high standard with most of the serious money already spent - although still requiring some significant time in the workshop, it could be completed for little extra expenditure.

Work completed to date includes:

Rolling chassis with quartered driving wheels, front bogie
Coupling rods bushed and fitted
Piston valve cylinders machined and fitted, complete with pistons, rods and valve bobbins
Majority of motionwork, crossheads, expansion links, rods, guide bars, drop-links etc.
Eccentric rods complete, fitted with ball races
Connecting rods largely complete, need finish machining
Twin axle pumps fitted
Exhaust plumbing silver-soldered up beneath saddle
Smokebox assembly, complete with door, dart & locking handles, chimney, saddle and petticoat pipe
Complete cab in brass
Pair locomotive running boards, very nicely made and rivetted
New silver-soldered copper boiler by Swindon Boilers with maker's twice working pressure hydraulic test certificate
Tender rolling chassis plus all brass sheet (1/8") to complete tank

Completed motion brackets
Castings for tender axlebox covers
Superb lost-wax casting safety valves
Pair Pinnacle 3-cock water gauges
