Part-built 2 1/2 inch gauge "Dyak" - stock code 2828

A really nicely made, air-running chassis built to LBSC's "Dyak" design for a 2 1/2 inch gauge Mogul. Designed as a beginner's engine, it was serialised in Model Engineer starting in 1934 - the magazine offered a prize for the best made engine by a beginner running at the Exhibition of Autumn 1935, with nine entries turning up on the day.

In addition to the chassis, there are a pair of tender frame plates and buffer beams, castings to complete the locomotive and tender and a kit of boiler parts including tube, flanged plates (complete with flanging formers, should the fancy take you to make another one) and a quantity of copper sheet. There is a complete set of drawings.

A worthwhile project which, whilst still requiring plenty of hours in the workshop, could be completed for little further outlay save for some boiler fittings and brass sheet.

I've only had one of these in before, a rather distressed though complete specimen - pictures are in the archive if you want to see what it will look like.
