Old horizontal mill engine - stock code 4124

A very nice early twentieth century horizontal engine, in the previous owner's possession for the last forty years. It's somewhat grubby with light surface rust, some of which has been scoured off with emery, but it's really ready for a sympathetic restoration. Quality is good, the engine features a fish-bellied connecting rod, gibbed and cottered big end, split main bearings and a beautifully made wooden base, relieved for the flywheel and with dovetailed corners. The bearings are getting rattly after much running on air over the years but there is sufficient material to take them up and get the thing running as designed again.
