Myford 254S imperial screw-cutting lathe. 4 3/4 inch centre height x 20 inches between centres, hardened bed. Spindle mounted on taper roller bearings. Power cross-feed, fully-enclosed lead-screw. Enclosed oil-bath lubrication to headstock, gearbox and apron.

Complete with low-voltage lighting, Myford coolant system, faceplate, vertical slide, fixed & travelling steadies, optional large indexing cross- and topslide dials, tailstock chuck, industrial cabinet stand with coolant tray and splashback. Chuck and gear guards are safety interlocked.

The lathe has been fitted with DC injection braking to the spindle, unusual in a privately-owned machine (it's a nice option but was expensive). There is a rocker switch fitted beside the stop button - when illuminated the braking system is activated, hitting the stop button stops the spindle very quickly - there's a clip of it in action here.

Single phase 240V operation, complete with original handbook, oil gun and toolkit.
