Maxwell Hemmens gas-fired steam plant - stock code 13372

A Maxwell Hemmens gas-fired steam plant, recently arrived with us as part of a large collection of stationary engines from a long-time customer of ours on the Welsh marches.

The plant comprises a gas-fired vertical boiler providing steam for a horizontal mill engine fitted with displacement lubricator and a boiler feed pump fed from the water tank. The engine exhausts into an oil separator - which drains to a waste oil tank - and thence to the chimney.

In excellent condition, it appears unsteamed from new having spent its life on display next to an equally well-kept Hemmens Showmans engine.

We've run the engine on air - unsurprisingly, it runs very well - and would warranty the boiler as sound. The light is connected, but doesn't work - it will require further investigation.

Complete with gas tank.
