Vintage horizontal engine - stock code 11536

A Victorian horizontal engine - installed in a church in Devon in 1890, it powered the organ blower there for the next thirty-five years until replaced by an electric motor in 1925.

The engine turns over freely and runs lustily on air, with some age-related wear and deterioration of paintwork (not unexpected after a long working life followed by nearly a century in retirement!).

A good candidate for sympathetic repainting - including the wooden base, which really wants returning to what would have been its original painted finish - it would make an attractive engine once restored.
