A one owner engine, it was bought new by a man whose main interest is railwayana, with several good Great Western nameplates on the walls in his house. The Pacific was taken out of the box once when bought, since then it’s been stored, untouched, in the man’s attic.
With a keen grandson now old enough to move into larger scale live steam, it's come to us in part-exchange for a 5 inch gauge Hunslet.
Complete with manufacturer’s assembly and operating instructions, and unopened touchup paint, tools and detailing parts including tender top and cab doors.
We took it out of the box to photograph it – I swear it blinked in the sunlight – before putting it back; it remains in first class condition throughout.
