A Drysdale vertical steam engine, of attractive proportions with balanced crank, piston valve actuated by Stephenson's reversing gear and a comprehensive system of wick and drip feed lubricators. Cylinder is wood lagged with brass bands.
There is no reversing lever or quadrant, although it would not be a terribly difficult job to make something in similar style to the rest of the engine. The engine is in good condition, casting undamaged, it turns over freely.
