Candlestick engine - stock code 3713

I hadn't come across this design before, oscillating engines have until now been little things that stand three inches high, built at school whilst learning to use a lathe, or else bolted to the side of a Mamod traction engine.

This is a "Candlestick" engine from HRM Designs, I think it is absolutely magnificent - another of those almost-finished projects where Geoff and I both get twitchy fingers to get on and sort it out. It's size is probably the most appealing thing, with a 14 inch diameter flywheel and elegantly proportioned column, it looks like a proper Victorian piece of engineering!

Work to date is to a good standard, castings are all good quality in iron. It needs a small amount of machining and, really, repainting, to make a spectacular model which would look very well in the house. My house, ideally (although Geoff, I think, has other ideas…)

Complete with drawings.

Height 16 inches
Flywheel 14 inch diameter
