A 2 1/2 inch gauge Bassett-Lowke 4-4-0, repainted and requiring some work to finish. The cab is only loosely fitted and one portion of handrail along the firebox is missing. Later replacement pressure gauge.

Coal-fired copper superheated boiler. Two inside cylinders, slide valves with Joy valve gear, displacement lubricator under front running board. On test the water gauge and whistle valve leaked - the gauge glass needs new seals, the whistle valve dismantling and its seat refacing. The main structure of the boiler looks sound on hydraulic test, under steam the engine runs well in both directions.
