7 1/4 inch gauge "Stafford" 0-4-0ST works number 1313 with driving truck - stock code 8394

A 7 1/4 inch gauge Stafford 0-4-0ST, works number 1313 delivered new in July 2011 with optional vacuum brakes. We built it for two members of a local club who wanted a reliable engine to use for public running at the weekend.

It fulfilled this role admirably until one of the owners retired and moved 200 miles away - the engine came back to us in 2014 (you can see the listing from that time in the archive), since when it's had one other owner.

Since last here it's acquired a steel-bodied braked driving truck painted to match the locomotive, snifter valves, gauge glass protector and a whistle. The original "frighten the horses" safety valve has been replaced with our latest progressive pop type.

Supplied with 12 months warranty, new boiler certificate and starter kit of firing irons, oil, water treatment and coal - exactly the same as with a new engine.
