7 1/4 inch gauge "Romulus" - stock code 3962

I sold this one back in March of this year - it never actually got to leave the workshop, the new owner has come over all standard gauge-ish so we bought it back, leaving him to concentrate on his B1. Pictures were taken in March, condition is exactly the same now (although the yard probably looks a bit sunnier).

7 ¼ inch gauge “Romulus” to Roger Marsh's renowned design, fitted with vacuum brake equipment and complete with ride-in tender.

Steel boiler by Bell with expanded tubes, fusible plug, fitted new in 2008, CE-marked and complete with all manufacturer's paperwork and initial twice pressure hydraulic test. Working pressure 80psi, feed by twin injectors fed from the tender water tank and crosshead pump. Regulator is a stainless steel ball valve, rod-operated from the cab – it's the same setup we use on “Stafford”, it works well, sensitive in operation and dead reliable.

Cast iron cylinders, slide valves actuated by Hackworth gear with pole reverser in cab. Mechanical lubricator. Screw-down brake for locomotive, vacuum ejector, gauge and driver's brake valve for train. Cast iron wheels, treads are in good condition with little sign of wear.
