A 7 1/4 inch gauge "Romulus", running as, effectively, an 0-4-4T, the driving truck having been bolted directly to the dragbeam of the locomotive. It could easily be unbolted and converted into a more conventional locomotive and tender arrangement.

Silver-soldered copper boiler, working pressure 90psi, feed by twin injectors, six gallon water tank under driving seat. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Hackworth gear, pole reverser in cab. Mechanical lubricator. Cast iron wheels with steel tyres, vacuum ejector fitted, screw-down brake for locomotive.
