7 1/4 inch gauge part-built petrol-hydraulic shunter - stock code 2556

Heavy-duty 7 1/4 inch gauge shunter with most of the hard work and spending done - apart from a small car battery, there is little left to buy. Well-built on a very substantial 6mm steel chassis fitted with an electric-start Tecumseh 4-stroke engine and Eaton hydrostatic transmission (both new) giving continously variable speed control and forward/reverse. The engine is coupled to the transmission by toothed belt, final drive to the wheels is by chain.

The bodywork is all in steel, well-made and nicely detailed. There is one engine cover panel remaining to be made - thus far the entire superstructure has been folded and rolled on one of the "all-in-one" sheet metal machines you see at the shows so, if you've got one of those, you're laughing (and if not, they're cheap to buy).

Main work to complete is connecting the controls to the engine and transmission, fitting the (supplied) fuel tank and plumbing up the exhaust. Coat of paint and you'll be in constant demand on your club's public running days.
