7 1/4 inch gauge part-built "Gemma" 0-4-0 - stock code 2328

Published as a 5 inch gauge design, "Gemma" was serialised in "Engineering in Miniature" magazine as a model of the Great Eastern Railway 0-4-0 built by Neilson & Company in 1874.

I'd never seen a scaled-up version until this one came along recently. It is a substantially complete chassis, with little work required to run it on air. There are professionally-made patterns for the wheels and cylinders included, along with a part-constructed boiler. Drawings for the 5 inch gauge version are still available from Reeves.

This project will make up into an unusual and rather attractive little engine which is very manageable in 7 1/4 inch gauge.
