A 7 1/4 inch gauge Hunslet-style "Opal" 0-4-2T by Maxitrak, built to a high specification and with professional paintwork.

Silver soldered copper locomotive-type boiler, 80psi working pressure, feed by injector and crosshead pump with auxiliary hand pump in the side tank. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Hackworth gear, pole reverser in cab. Mechanical lubricator.

The engine is fitted with the optional polished brass dome, chimney top and spoked iron wheels. It has recently been comprehensively serviced, the boiler was hydraulic and steam tested at that time.
