We sold this one back at the beginning of 2015, a "barn find" LNER V2. At that time it was complete, although seized and requiring boiler work - the original listing is in the archive here.

It's recently come back in part exchange for another standard gauge locomotive - although largely dismantled, much good work has been done leaving the way clear to a rebuild with much of the heavy expenditure behind it. Boiler has been to Andrew Kirk at Holt Boilers, had ultrasonic survey prior to retubing and issued with twice working pressure hydraulic test certificate. Chassis has been stripped, freed off and cleaned; motionwork cleaned, new connecting rods, cylinders honed, piston rods and pistons have been made, supplied with new rings. There is a new stainless steel superheater assembly loosely fitted in the smokebox which requires finishing.

Steel boiler with expanded copper tubes, 100psi working pressure, feed by twin injectors. Two cast iron cylinders with piston valves actuated by Walschaerts gear, screw reverser in cab.
