A 7 1/4 inch gauge LMS Black 5, an older engine, built to a good standard. It was professionally overhauled and repainted six years ago, at that time a new boiler was fitted. Sadly the owner didn't live to enjoy the rebuild - the engine has been in storage, unsteamed since it was delivered, it has recently come to us with another locomotive from his son.
CE-marked silver soldered copper boiler by Swindon Boilers, 100psi working pressure, feed by twin injectors with auxiliary hand pump in the tender. Cast iron cylinders with piston valves actuated by Walschaert's gear, screw reverser in the cab. Driving wheelsets run in split axleboxes. Mechanical lubricator.
There is a seat for the tender, which is fitted with folding footrests.
The chassis runs freely, the boiler has been steamed once to test when assembled - condition of the smokebox and firebox would bear that out.
