7 1/4 inch gauge Hunslet - stock code 2534

Professionally-built example of the popular Hunslet "Alice" class 0-4-0 in 3 inch scale, as built for the slate quarries of North Wales.

Silver soldered copper boiler fed by twin injectors with auxiliary hand pump. Slide valve cylinders, Stephenson's valve gear with pole reverser in cab.The four wheel braked driving trolley is fitted with a water tank.

Completed as one of a pair in 1998, the engine has been little used, having spent most of its life in store waiting for a railway to run on. These little Hunslets (as in full size) will go round the tightest of curves - this, combined with their modest size and comfortable driving position make for an ideal garden railway engine.

I sold this engine last September, since when it has been to America and back. It did sterling duty out there running the local kiddies about, it's now come home as its owners work comittments currently leave little time for steam engines (which is something he should probably seek medical help about).
