7 1/4 inch gauge "Holmside" - stock code 6213

An industrial 0-6-0 saddle tank to Martin Evans' robust "Holmside" design. It's come from the builder, a man more usually occupied making large scale traction engines, including a 4 inch Fowler and 3 inch Marshall - he named this locomotive after an engine Manning Wardle supplied to Sheffield Corporation.

Steel boiler with copper tubes, 100psi working pressure. Feed by axle pump and hand pump in the driving truck - there is an injector fitted, although missing some pipework. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Stephenson's gear with pole reverser in the cab. Mechanical lubricator.

A large, well-proportioned tank engine, complete with a driving truck with water tank and hand pump.
