Work to date comprises a rolling chassis with cylinders fitted, smokebox assembly, part-finished brass saddle tank and much of the motion work and valve gear in either finished or part-finished form.
The copper boiler is a symphony of silver and soft solders, with not quite enough heat for one, a little too much for the other.
A handsome engine when finished; if you need some inspiration, the best we've had was one of the many locomotives by the late, great Keith Massey which ran like a Swiss watch - there are pictures in the archive here.
Complete with drawings, castings are available from Reeves, many profiled parts to help the build including cab, running boards etc are listed on the ever-helpful Model Engineers Laser website.
