7 1/4 inch gauge GWR 11XX 0-4-0T "Midge" - stock code 9305

A 7 1/4 inch gauge GWR 11XX 0-4-0T dock shunter, built to the George Gentry "Midge" design serialised in "Model Engineer" magazine in the 1930s.

The work of an accomplished model engineer and boiler maker, work to date is to a good standard comprising a rolling chassis with brake gear and cylinders machined and fitted, along with a silver soldered copper boiler with neatly flanged plates and good solder penetration.

There is also a smokebox assembly complete with door and chimney, tank/cab sides, spectacle plate/cab rear plate and running boards, all of which appear to have been recovered from another locomotive which had been running in the past.

We've sold several Midges over the years - there's some pictures of a well-built one in the archive here to give you an idea of what the finished thing looks like.

Complete with 12 sheets of drawings.
