We sold this one last year, a change in the new owner's circumstances means it's back again, unused since last listed here.

7 1/4" inch gauge sit- in locomotive, inspired by the American FP45 diesel but with 4 instead of 6 wheel bogies.

Powered on the front bogie by a Bosch 24 volt 1 horsepower motor driving all wheels. A pair of leisure batteries mounted over the front bogie provide adhesiv weight and motive power via a Parkside controller.

Rear bogie is fitted with air brakes, with discs on both axles and a battery powered compressor in the rear compartment.

A ‘Trax’ sound system, driving two large speakers, provides - according to the builder - "an awesome throbbing diesel engine noise". Mercifully it can be switched off. Twin headlamps at the front allow for night time running, twin air horns effortlessly dust hedgehogs from the track.

A large locomotive - whilst it has been transported in a Vauxhall Astra estate, it comes with the custom built trailer seen below - a neatly made, lightweight unit with lots of thoughtful touches from the quick-detach lighting boards to the waterproof rigid cover with locking hasps.
