The boiler dates from 1990 although documentation suggests that the engine wasn't finished until some years later - it remains in good condition.
The engine steams freely and runs well - there's a clip of it in steam outside the workshop here.
We have past club history for the boiler dating back to 1996 - overall it's in good order and structurally sound on hydraulic test.
We've put an advisory on the latest certificate, noting a scarcely visible damp patch showing at the end of one tube which is dry under steam. It's been expanded in the workshop and re-tested, we're happy to offer a 12 month warranty on the boiler in addition to our normal warranty on the rest of the locomotive.
