It's recently come back, now complete and running, after a fashion...
A brief run down of our workshop notes gives the following needing attention:
Paintwork - what there is of it - is to a uniformly drab standard (and included painting directly over the unclad boiler insulation, which is something we've not seen before).
On the plus side the engine has had little, if any use since completion - the CE-marked Blackgates boiler remaining in as-new condition, it was as tight as a drum on hydraulic test.
Work required is time-consuming rather than costly of parts or materials - there's the potential to make a decent engine from what, prima facie, appears a rather uninspiring start.
