An older engine, it was very softly sprung when it arrived here - never a good idea for a Hackworth geared engine. We've fitted more suitable springs which have greatly improved both the ride quality and forward valve events - reverse remains stubbornly elusive, requiring further investigation.
On the plus side the commercial boiler by Cheddar has had recent hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued; the engine steamed freely on test and ran well, there's some video of it on our YouTube channel here.
