Unsteamed from new, the boiler has had a twice working pressure hydraulic test with new certification issued; the chassis runs on air - better in forwards than reverse.
Built to a good standard throughout, machining is crisply executed; fit and finish of motionwork and valve gear is good; the platework neatly made and fitted. We like the neatly done firebox cladding sheet with brass bands, the twin ram lubricator with large tank mounted between the frames.
Whilst it will undoubtedly require commissioning for steaming - the glands are dry and leak air, requiring repacking - it will make a good example of this popular design.
