A 5 inch gauge battery-electric steam outline Hunslet Austerity 0-6-0ST - this one came in recently along with a superb live steam LMS Black 5.

Both engines are the work of a highly capable engineer - a man now in his nineties and spending, by his own admission, more time in the garden than the workshop these days.

Powered by four motors, driving a centrally-mounted gearbox by belt with 4QF Professional 120 24V 120A motor controller, with controls mounted in the back of the cab, falling readily to hand when driving.

The whistle works, driven by what appears to be a commercially produced sound card.

A large locomotive for the gauge at nearly four feet long, supplied ready to run, complete with a brand new pair of batteries.
